Retreat Terms and Conditions

Agreement to Terms

By registering and putting a down payment on your room, you agree that you have read and agree to the following terms:

  • Registration price does NOT include:

    • Alcohol (although it is available)

    • Additional excursions or activities off the resort

    • Flights

  • Attendees are responsible for securing their own air travel

  • Attendees must arrive on April 6th, no later than 6:00 PM local time, and will depart April 9th.

  • Check out time on April 9th is 12pm.

  • The Unchained Retreat is located in Tulum, Mexico. While Tulum is recognized as a safe area, reasonable caution should be exercised and local laws should be acknowledged. To view the United States Travel Department travel guides attendees may visit travel.gov.

  • The Unchained Retreat is not liable for any bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, theft or property damage of attendees participating in the retreat.

  • Attendees will be responsible for their own personal belongings. A safe is provided in each room.

  • Attendees shall be physically able to walk up and down stairs to access daily classes and possibly their room.

  • The retreat requires a minimum of 12 attendees. In the case of less than 12 attendees, all money will be refunded to any who have paid.

  • Other than a cancellation of event, no refunds will be issued, however registration can be transferred at least 4 weeks before the retreat date.

  • Attendees agree to appear in photos or videos that may be used for marketing purposes. These photos will be made available to all attendees after the retreat.

  • The remaining balance of your registration is due on or before the designated due date and you agree to pay said balance on or before said due date or forfeit your room and balance paid.

Eco-Friendly Resort Notice

Please be aware that the beautiful retreat location operates as an eco-friendly resort. Due to the unique setup:

Power Limitations: The resort’s power grid cannot support high-wattage appliances such as blow dryers or other heavy-duty devices.

Bathroom Use: The plumbing system requires that toilet paper be placed in the provided trash bin, not flushed.

Water: please do not drink the tap water. Bottled water is provided daily for drinking and teeth brushing.

Room Access and Views: Some rooms are accessible only by stairs. Room views are randomly assigned and cannot be guaranteed.

Any dietary restrictions must be sent to [email protected] at least 30 days prior to arrival. 

 

Travel Policies

Travel Costs: All attendees are responsible for their own transportation to and from Tulum, Mexico, including flights, airport transfers, and any other travel-related expenses. Ground transport from Tulum airport to the resort is included in the retreat cost.

Travel Insurance: Attendees must purchase their own travel insurance, which is strongly recommended for coverage of medical expenses, trip cancellations, and unforeseen events.

Accommodation Upgrades: The retreat package includes standard accommodations. Any requests for room upgrades or special accommodations will be at the attendee's own expense.

Personal Expenses: Any personal expenses such as additional meals or drinks outside those provided during the retreat, personal shopping, or other incidental expenses are not included.

Additional Activities: Any excursions or activities outside the scheduled activities are not included.

Gratuities: Tips for hotel staff, guides, and other service providers are covered in the retreat cost, but you may certainly tip on your own accord.

Visa and Passport Fees: Attendees are responsible for ensuring they have valid passports and any necessary visas, along with associated fees.

Travel Safety: Attendees are encouraged to take safety precautions when traveling to and within Mexico, particularly if traveling alone. It is advisable to share travel itineraries with a trusted contact, remain aware of your surroundings, and follow local travel advisories for safety. The retreat organizers are not liable for any incidents that occur during travel outside of retreat-provided transportation.

 

  

Health and Safety Policy

Personal Health: Attendees must ensure they are in suitable health to participate in retreat activities. It is recommended to consult a physician before attending.

Health Protocols: The retreat will follow any local health and safety guidelines in place at the time of the event.

Liability Waiver: Attendees will be required to sign a waiver releasing the retreat organizers from liability for any personal injury, illness, or property damage.

Photography and Media Policy

By attending the retreat, you consent to being photographed or filmed for marketing and promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be included in such materials, please inform us in writing prior to the retreat.

 

Force Majeure

In the event that the retreat must be canceled or rescheduled due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., natural disasters, government regulations, pandemics), we will offer attendees the option to transfer their registration to a future retreat date. Refunds will not be issued for force majeure events.

 

Photography and Media Policy

By attending the retreat, you consent to being photographed or filmed for marketing and promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be included in such materials, please inform us in writing prior to the retreat.

 

Cancellation Policy

Non-Refundable Policy: All payments made for the retreat, including deposits and full payments, are non-refundable.

Transfer of Spot: If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your spot to another participant, provided this is done no less than 30 days before the start of the retreat. The new participant must comply with all retreat policies

 

 

Liability Waiver

By participating in the retreat, you agree to release and hold harmless the organizers from any liability for personal injury, property damage, or loss incurred during the retreat, including any issues arising from compliance with the eco-friendly practices of the resort.

Code of Conduct

Attendees are expected to maintain respect and professionalism towards all participants, staff, and service providers throughout the retreat. Disruptive or inappropriate behavior may result in removal from the retreat without refund.

Agreement to Terms

By registering for the retreat, attendees agree to all outlined exclusions, cancellation terms, and policies as stated above.
